One of the many forms of Goddess Sakhti is Goddess Parvati and there are many mantras that are invoked to seek her blessings. There is a lot of significance and meaning attached to these mantras. Each of these mantras are said to be invoked to seek the blessings of Goddess Parvati for specific purposes.

One of the most popular Parvati mantra that is also known as Eshwari Mantra is Swayamvara Parvathy Manthra Mala Stotram. There are a total of 45 slokas in this prayer. Goddess Parvati had done immense penance in the forest to win the love of Lord Shiva. The Parvati Mantra is done to invoke the blessings of the Goddess by women who are unable to find a suitable marriage partner.


Goddess Parvati had undergone severe penance to win the love of Lord Shiva after he had retreated into a cave after the death of his wife, Sati. The Goddess did severe penance in the forest and ultimately her hard penance won the approval of Lord Brahma who granted her wish to marry Lord Shiva.

The hard penance that she underwent and ultimately her triumph are the major attributes that are mentioned in the Parvati mantra.

Om Bandhooka varnaam arunam sugathram,

Shambhum samudhisya sanairupetam,

Ambhoja mrudhweem abhilasha dathreem,

Sambhavaye nirjjara dharu kalpam

This is the first of the slokas and is a salutation to Goddess Parvati. Her physical attributes are described here and talks about her penance to win the love of Lord Shiva.

Hreem mandharani charanagra gathi prapathe,

Shwamanju samkwanitha kankana kinkineeni,

Kamam kumari, thava thani shive, smarami,

Kshemangarani jana kalaya khelanaani

This sloka talks about the jewels that Goddess Parvati wears and the sounds they make.

Yogena balya vayaso lalitham purasthaath,

Drageva kanda vilasath kankormi koughaam,

Aakamra nagdha rasanam bhavatheem nireekshe,

Sri kanda bhamini, kadha prapadeena venim

This sloka talks about the adornments on her neck and waist.

Giryalpa mugdha vishadham nava youvanam sree,

Dhuryam vilasamaya makshnee krusam vilaghne,

Paryuchyitham kucha bhare jaghane ganam yath,

Paryuthsako asmi sathatham janani praseedha.

This sloka also describes her physical attributes

 

Nirdhootha kundala mudanchitha gharma lesam,

Vithrastha kesamabhitha schala deekshanantham,

Nirdhwani kankana mudhagra kuchandha mandhar,

This sloka talks about her youth and the time spent in her father’s place.

This sloka talks about her penance for Lord Shiva

Giryathmaje, madana daha mahavamana,

Paryakula purahare hrudhayam nidhaya,

Karyasthapo vidhadhi kusalaani bhoobruth,

Paryaya peena kucha kumbha vishumbhadangi

This sloka describes the hard penance that she did in the forest.

Nidhyaya manasa drusa muhoor indu choodam,

Madhya sthitha rahasi pancha huthaasananam,

Thatha drusena thapasa jagad anda bhaajaam,

Vithrasa dhathri, pari pahi sada shive na

This sloka talks about the difficulty that she faced during her penance.

 

Yogyam vatorva purupa sthitharathma bhakthim,

Deergham pareekshithu manukshana makshi pantham,

Sakshaath gireesa mavadhooya rushaa prayathe,

Drakthena samsrithapadam bhvatheem bhajama

This sloka talks about the test that she had to face during her penance.

Gehe nije varanadhamalasath karabhjaam,

Vyhaari noopura mudanchitha manda haasam,

Neehara bhanu dara muchalitham vareethum,

Mohavahaam tribhuvanasya bhajamahe thwam

The sloka talks about her wedding to Lord Shiva.

These are the various slokas that are to be recited daily for removing any obstacle that a woman might be facing in her marriage. They are to be recited till the marriage is fixed. Apart from marriage the slokas can also be recited to cure infertility and clear any problems that a couple might face in marriage.
